Attraction
The Type 2 is impressed by the Type 3’s self-confidence, charisma, determination, and ambition.
Type 3 is attracted to Type 2’s kindness, generosity, attentiveness, and affection.
Both are optimistic, sociable, energetic, hardworking, and appreciate seeing these qualities reflected in each other.
Potential Challenges
Both types, though not always aware of it, are very attentive to their image and need recognition to fuel their energy. Type 2 needs to feel important and loved by their partner to remain positively engaged, while Type 3 needs to feel admired for their achievements by everyone around them. Type 2 may become frustrated if their attentions alone aren’t enough for Type 3 to feel fulfilled.
The "potential challenges" arise in an Enneagram-type couple primarily when they are not in harmony with themselves. With communication, each person's investment in the relationship, and mutual understanding, these challenges can certainly be avoided and resolved.
